Finn Class Sailing First Time In Hyderabad

This is going to happen for the first time in India, in Finn Class a National competition will held during the Sailing Week in Hyderabad.

The multi-class senior sailing championship will be jointly organized under the authority of the EME Sailing Association (EMESA), the Laser Class Association of India (LCAI), and the Secunderabad Sailing Club (SSC) at Hussain Sagar. The championship will start on 28th of June 28 and will conclude on 8th of July.

The Finn was designed by Rickard Skarby considering the dinghy of heavyweight in 1949. Fin gained early acceptance the family of the Olympic, and was introduced in Olympic in the beginning of year 1952 Helsinki Games. After that it used to be sailed in every regatta.

Here are the details of the competitions, it will be held in the a) youth, Open Laser Standard for the age group that is under 19 to 21years, the apprentice master race is for people of age group between 35 to 44 years, master is for the people of age between 45 to 54 years, the Grandmaster is for the people of age between 55 to 64 years and last the great grand master is for the people of age over 65.

The second category of the race is ‘Youth Laser Radial in the open for age under 19, 17 years and other age grouping will be same as mentioned above.

The third category is Laser 4.7 and it is for youth aged under 16 and 18 years.

Fourth category is 470 Class (open), followed by RS: X (open);

  • g) Hobie 16 (open); h) Enterprise (open) and I) Finn (open).
